Blast from the Past

These pics are the very first ones we saw of Sasha back in 2005. My heart was beating to a fast drum when I opened the first picture. Once we saw his pic we knew that he was going to be our son. I do think he still resembles the pics but he has grown up a lot since those pics. My favorite one is the one of him sitting in the chair. I still get goose pumps when I look at these pics.

He was our little baby and still is today. He even says that sometimes...... "momma, I'm still your baby, right". I love it when he asks me that, and when he does I take him into my arms and hug him for a while and tell him how much I love him.

Adoption is a long road but it is very very worth it!!!! No matter how long the wait. At the end when you meet your little one face to face, it makes you realize you would have waited a lifetime for this moment.

GOTCHA DAY 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Today is our 2 year anniversary for Sasha being a part of our family. It was 2 years ago today that we were in Tomsk Russia in court praying the judge would agree that Sasha was going to be our son.

At times the last 2 years have gone by fast and other times the time has gone by slow. It seems just like yesterday that we were in Russia hoping to bring Sasha home and then again it seems like Sasha has been with us from his first day of breath. He has grown so much in the past 2 years. He is now 4 years old and they say if you take a child's height at 4 years old and double it that is what his height will be as an adult. Well he is 42 inches tall right now so that will make him at least 6.5 feet tall as an adult. I do think he is going to be a big boy but not chubby. He has abs of steel. He eats very much for him to have such fit abs at this age. He is constantly asking us if a certain food he is eating at the moment makes him strong. He loves veggies and so I think he will turn out pretty healthy as an adult.

Just a normal Wednesday

Today was an OK day. The boys went to school (Day Care) and papa and momma went to work. My aunt Jeannie was in town and me and the two boys met her at Cheddars for dinner. Papa was sick, he came down with something ill around 2:15 today.

Sasha keeps checking on his papa and keeps telling him if he eats it will make him feel better. Sasha is such a good caretaker, even with his little brother Dimitry.

God Bless and have a great tomorrow.

Sasha & Dimitry

My boys are growing so fast. Sasha is 4 years old. He is now 42 pounds and 42 inches tall. My little Dimitry is 10 pounds and 22 inches. He will be 3 months in two weeks. Boy does the time fly......when you are having fun. I never dreamed that having kids would be this much fun. I knew it would be fun, but not this much fun.

It's amazing how a 4 year old can joke around. We spend our dinner time at the table watchin Sasha tell jokes or just acting nuts.

Dimitry is now smiling and cooing. He recognizes us when we walk into the room.

LIFE is great having two boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

July 4th 2007

HAPPY JULY 4TH!!!!!!!!!!

The day started by waking up at 4:46 am to feed Dimitry. At 8:00 Sasha woke up and wanted to watch cartons. We ate a small breakfast and around 11:00 am we decided to start thinking of what we wanted to eat for lunch. Sasha mentioned that he wanted to eat McDonalds. That actually sounded pretty good. Before we had kids, we hated McDonalds. But now it's pretty tasty.

After lunch Sasha and Papa went to purchase Sasha a new bike. Since the bike he got from Santa at Christmas is already getting to be too small for him and seeing that he is a good boy and doesn't get into trouble we decided to purchase him a new bike. What a perfect day to do that on July 4th. Once they got home with the new bike we all four went for a walk in the neighborhood. It was such a gorgeous day for a nice family walk.

Around 4:00 pm I made brownies and homemade salsa. We were invited to go swimming and eat dinner with our neighbors Ray and Ruthie. They have a great pool that has a hot tub and a diving board and slide. Sasha is not afraid of the water. He was all over that pool. I remember years before kids, I could just relax in the pool. But since Sasha when I'm in the pool all I do is keep a close eye on him. He went down the slide several times and jumped off the diving board. He was in the deep end of the pool most of the time and momma here had to tread water a lot. Hey, at least maybe I burned some calories while swimming.

It's now 10:03 pm and I guess I better go and get ready for bed. Some of us have to go to work tomorrow. Brad is off the rest of the week ending his 4 weeks off with Dimitry.

Come Monday, Sasha and Dimitry will be at Day Care (Sasha calls it School).

Good bye for now. Keep checking my blog who knows what I might say.
