Christmas 2009

Our family had a fantastic Christmas. We started out Christmas Eve by making cookies for Santa and sprinkling reindeer food out on our lawn. Then, papa read the story of Jesus's birth out of ht Bible. After all, this is the true meaning of the season. The boys then put the Santa key outside since we don't have a fireplace in our home. The boys went to bed and woke up to seeing that Santa did not miss stopping at their house. We all looked inside our stockings and started opening our presents. Sasha got an XBox 360 and a Lego Star Wars set. Dimitry got a "Cars" racecar track called Mac Attack and a Chick car that talks and moves when he shake it. The boys both received a Night of the Museum DVD. The boys also got lots of presents from their papa and momma. We enjoyed the day playing with the new toys and then later that morning we went over to Pupa and grandmas to open more presents. The boys were truly good this year and they knew it before Christmas was here. We are truly blessed.

Our Halloween excitement started on Wednesday when the boys dressed up at church and go trunk or treating. They both brought home a ton of candy. Then it was dress up in any "farm animal costume" for Dimitry on Friday October 30th. Then on Halloween day, our day started off by going and watching Sasha's last Upward Flag Football game at 9:00 am. Then it was home for a few hours and at 1:00 pm we went to Sasha's school to do the carnival there. Lots of fun games to play. Then at 6:00 pm we headed over to Sherwood Baptist church (we were invited by some friends) to experience their trunk or treat carnival. It was lots of fun and again, the boys came home with lots of candy. We had a carriage ride with some beautiful horses. Then it was off to see Grandma and Pupha to show them the boys costumes. Then we made it home at 10:00 pm. It's a good thing we had to set our clocks back 1 hour.

Over all, we all had a great time this Halloween. It's fun to see the boys have lots of fun!!

Summer 2009

It's been a nice summer this year with our boys. We have done lots of stuff with the boys, from going to Oklahoma, Sea World San Antonio Texas and just little weekend trips here and there. I enjoy doing anything with my boys and hubby Brad. Even just playing in our back yard has been a lot of fun this year. I enjoye those days the most!! Sasha has been going to the YMCA for the summer program and has taken swimming lessons for three 2 week sessions. Guess what?? Now he can swim really good. I'm amazed now when we are in the pool. I still can't believe he can swim on his own without holdoing onto his momma. He didn't wear a life jacket while swimming at the Sea World Lost Lagoon Water Park. While attending the YMCA summer program, he has gone swimming once a week, gone to most of the city parks and also to the museums here in town. He has enjoyed every moment of the time spent at the YMCA. He has also added a few more boys and girls to his "friends list". He has lots of friends. He will be starting 1st grade in just a few more weeks and he is very excited about that.

Dimitry is now enjoying the water too. He will actually let go of you while in the pool as long as he has a life jacket on. Dimitry has enjoyed his Day Care and just last week started his new class for the year with the 2 year olds. He is going to love Mrs. Elva. Mrs. Elva was Sasha's first teacher at the Day Care. He learned a lot from her class and I'm sure Dimitry will as well.

As far as the family, we have done a lot this year. We got a new roof that was so much needed. We got new Windows throughout the whole house. We have been on the Dave Ramsey Saving Plan and our window purchase was our first big purchase with cash on the Dave Ramsey plan. We are so enjoying saving money and at the same time having money to spend without using Credit Cards. We have taught Sasha and Dimitry this year to say that Credit Cards are "BAD". We dug up some bushes that have been at our house since we bought it 15 years ago. It really looks good without the bushes although I miss them at times.

The boy's vegetable garden is doing good. We have picked peppers and today picked out first tomato off the plant. We got a late start because the weather this year was cold up unitl the middle of May. So we didn't plant the garden until then. Last year it started out being Sasha's garden, then this year it's more Dimitry's garden. I'm the paid gardener but the funny thing is I don't get paid. I work in the garden as much as I can to keep the grass from over growing. I wish I could spend more time working in it but just don't have the time. But I think the garden is doing pretty good. Our dog Casey layed on one pepper plant, but I was able to save it. I pulled off the broken part and the rest of the plant is still alive.

We have gotten a lot of rain the last month, so our grass is really green and the garden is really loving all this rain.

Like I say all the time, God has been good to us and has blessed Brad and I with 2 wonderful boys. We couldn't ask for any better boys.

New Year 2009

I haven't updated my blog in a few months. So I thought since it's a new year I would let everyone know how my family is doing. We are doing great. God blessed us in the year 2008 and I'm looking foward to see how he is going to bless us in the year of 2009.

We spent some time off of work during the Christmas time to be with our boys. Spent the Saturday before with my family in New Mexico and had a great time. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day we spent time with our boys at home doing what every typical family does at Christmas time. We enjoyed every moment of it. This year we started a new tradition at our home for Christmas morning. Before we open gifts we sit down in front of the Christmas Tree and Papa reads the story out of the Bible of the birth of Jesus. What a great tradition. Maybe you can start a tradition like this one in your family. Then on Christmas Day we went and to Pupa and Gramdma's to open Christmas gifts with them. The boys had lots of gifts and loved being with their Pupa and Grandma. Their cousins Brenden and Spencer were there. We met Brenden's girlfriend Chasmier and we just fell in love with her. She is so sweet and very beautiful. We hope Brenden keeps her around.

Then the Sunday after Christmas me and the boys went back to New Mexico to spend more time with the boy's Popo and Nana. We spent 4 days there and enjoyed every moment of the time spent with them. I beleive Dimitry enjoyed hanging out with Popo the most. Sasha enjoyed making homemade cookies with Nana.

On New Year's Eve we ate dinner and stay awake just long enough to see Dick Clark bring in the New Year 2009 in New York City. Dick Clark looked good for having a stroke. Sasha saw the New York ball fall and turned and looked us and said "Is that it? I thought the ball was going to drop." We explained to him what the dropping of the ball was and he was ok with it. We all then went to bed. New Years Day we woke up and ate a late breakfast and then in the evening we ate our typical dinner with Cabbage for money and black eye peas for good luck. The boys liked is as well as we did.

Today is January 2nd and I'm Happy as any mother to two wonderful boys and a fantastic husband could be. I pray that God blesses everyone that reads my blog. I hope my blog touches your heart as those blogs I read touch mine. I'm am so blessed by God and with a family like I have.

Today after school we picked Sasha up and just 30 minutes before we got there he had been pushed down by a boy at school. His bump between his eyes makes me quizzy. OUCH!!!! The teacher said he didn't cry. I wanted to cry when I first saw him. That's the 2nd time this year he has had a bump on his head. And guess what he gets to do in two days??? If you said take school picutures you are correct. That's right, his 1st "real" school pictures and he will have a big bump between his eyes. He was supposed to go to his Aikido class tonight but I had him stay home and rest with an ice pack on his forehead. All I have to say is "Boys will be boys".

What's been going on with the boys!!

I haven't posted in a few months. We hav been very busy with our boys. So I made time tonight to take a hour to post. My boys are growing up so fast. Here Dimitry will turn 17 months in just 4 more days. Sasha is now 5 1/2 years old. Where has the time gone? We have had so much fun this summer. From playing T-Ball, Aikido, and just being a family.

I never thought it would be this much fun having a family. I knew it would be fun but not this much fun.

Sasha started Kinder this year at a new school and just loves his teacher and new friends. Tomorrow his class gets a ice cream party and an extra recess since their class had the most parents/gaurdians to join the PTA in the whole entire school. Yes, of course Brad and I joined. We wouldn't miss the opportunity in a lifetime. We will do the same for Dimitry.

Dimitry was in the Baby I room until August. He would normally move up to the Baby II room but he was so advanced with his talking and just being a big boy (he thinks he can do anything Sasha does) that the director of the DayCare asked if we minded if he moved up to the Toddler I class. Would we mind?? Are you kidding? We are so proud of our little Dimitry. He is saying lots of words. He learned a new word on Saturday. He recieved a football (a very nice one too) from Lacks Furniture and now he goes around saying "football" holding his football of course and running. Maybe he is going to be the next Dallas Cowboys quarterback. I really think Dimitry will be our sports boy. He loves balls of any sort.

I am going to try to do my best to post more often. Like I've always said, God has blessed my family and I am so thankful for that every day!!

Aikido Class Begins...

Since T-Ball ended Sasha wanted to get involved in something in the Martial Arts area, so papa searched and he found a place in town that taught Aikido Martial Arts which is no violence and it's not one of the kick, punch martial arts. So Sasha signed up and he has had two classes. He loves it and has already learned several techniques that could help in defending himself. He has about 6 other classmates and they all seem to get along. What a wonder group of friends that Sasha has now in his Aikido class.

Sasha wanted a big garden this year so we decided to cement off an area of the back yard that we could plant more than just 1 or 2 tomatoe plants and some peppers, so we did as Sasha wanted and planted 6 tomatoe plants, 4 pepper plants, 3 eggplant plants, 2 squash plants and 1 cucumber bush plant. We got a late start since Easter was late this year and the weather just stayed a little cold for a while. But we finally did plant and so far everything has grew and looks very healthy.

Oklahoma Vacation

In June we took a vacation to Oklahoma, yes it was our yearly Star Trek Convention vacation. We had lots of fun and did more than just Star Trek. We went to the waterpark, a very nice flower garden, Planitarium, museum, baseball game and some shopping at the mall. The one thing we do not do on vacation is "Rest". We are busy from the time we wake up until the time we get to bed. We try to see as much of a town as we can while visiting it.

Tonight at church was Sasha's last night as a Cubbie. He will start the Sparks group next Fall. He finished his whole book and recieved all his awards. If you take a look at his vest he is wearing you can see all the awards he has recieved throughout the year. Now my job is to sew that last two he got tonight on his vest to complete it. I'm so proud of him and he is so good at learning all the memory verses from the Bible.

Dimitry got his 1st haircut on May 17th at 11:15 am. He did great just sitting there but of course Wanda gave him a sucker to put in his mouth. He looks like a totally different little boy. He is still cute to his momma and I love him whatever his hair looks like. He may not have his little "Gerber" curly que but I love his hair no matter what style he has now.

Sasha had a graduation night for his Pre-school Day class. All the 4/5 year olds graduated from Pre-school and had a little program for all the parents, grandparents, friends. They all sang songs and dressed up as Kids in Construction. They were all so cute and all did a great job singing. The next step for Sasha is Kindergarten which he has already signed up on May 5th and got to take a tour at the school and meet a few "already" kindergarten kids. He got to visit the school's library (which he is going to love) and the cafeteria, and a classroom in session. All the kids welcomed Sasha and one kid in perticular said he was going to love his school. Sasha is so excited about attending his what he calls it his "Big Boy" school. Momma can't wait to go shoppig for school clothes and school supplies.

Papa, Sasha, Dimitry and myself enjoyed a night out watching IRON MAN at the drive in. Sasha loves to go to the drive in more than the walk in theater. I enjoy it more too because we can be comfy in our own car or just sitting out in our chairs. Dimitry enjoys it too. He is such a happy little boy, he enjoys anything his papa, momma and big brother drag him to.

A few months have passed since I have posted a new blog. So here I am tonight posting several events during my life with my boys.

Sasha had his 5th birthday and Dimitry turned 1 year old. Boy do they grow up fast!! Sasha had his typical backyard party with the jumper and everything. For Dimitry's birthday, we had hamburgers and had his grandma and pupah and two cousins come over to celebrate.

Sasha started TBall and just loves it. When you ask him what his favorite thing about TBall is, his answer isn't the typical answer a proud mother that played sports in your younger years. Yes, his favorite thing is sitting on the bench. I couldn't believe he said that, but guess what? I'm still so proud of my boy Sasha. He is a good team player. But he is a social bug so no wonder he likes sitting on the bench. He is a favorite of the team too.

Sasha has gone to several birthday parties of friends in the last few months. It's like the same thing every weekend, momma taking Sasha to a birthday party. I guess that's what we get for Sasha having so many friends.

Dimitry turned 1 year old and he is trying to walk. He does walk but not when papa and momma want him to do it for the camera. For his birthday the family went to see Disney on Ice and saw Finding Nemo. It was a big hit with the boys. Even at one part when Nemo was calling his dad, Dimitry started calling his dad out too. The lady sitting next to us thought it was so sweet.

Dimitry is playing more and more with his big brother Sasha. He watches every move Sasha makes and loves to play hide n seek with his big brother. They are such a joy to watch.

It's been several weeks since I blogged, so I thought I would catch you up to what my boys are up to.

First of all, Sasha is getting smarter as each day goes by. He now plays his Leapster without our help. He can go to Disney.com and move all through the site without our help. He still is a great helper with his baby brother Dimitry. Loves to play with is Tarainiac remote control vehicle that he got from Santa. He is trying to read. He points out letters where ever we go. He can spell some of the 3 letter words. Boy is he smart. He loves learning and I hope that stays with him while he grows up.

Dimitry got his first tooth back in the last part of September. Then about two weeks later, he got his second tooth right next to it. Then came the first tooth on the top. Now and it's just January, he has a 3rd bottom tooth in and has 4 more teeth coming in slowly on the top. So total teeth that are in or coming in are 8 teeth.

He still eats all his veggies baby food and loves baby cereal (favorite is Oatmeal). He loves drinking his juice every morning-that's where we put his daily vitamins. He doesn't even know he is getting his vitamin that way. We just bought some vegtable juices and he likes them as well. I think he is going to be a good eater like his brother. He is up to drinking 8-12 oz. of milk now. Can't keep up with him with breastfeeding so had to start giving him formula. He likes it just as much.

Dimitry is now crawling. He does it quick too. If he wants to play with a toy and it's across the room, it doesn't take two seconds to get over to it. He is going to be a quick crawler. He is also standing good with our help. It might not be too long before he is actually walking. We need to really baby proof our house now. We just thought we had it baby proofed.

Christmas was a blast this year for our family. Sasha put a Santa Key outside so Santa would be able to bring him and his brother Dimitry presents plus making Gingerbread cookies for Santa.

We got up early and Sasha went into the living room where the presents were and came running into the den saying "momma, Santa brought me and papa a Tarainiac (remote control vehicle) and Dimitry a present". It was so cute. We sat down infront of the Chirstmas tree and opened our stockings. Then came the presents. Sasha and Dimitry loved every present they got. After that we ate breakfast and later ate lunch.

After lunch we all went over to Grandma and Pupah's to open presents with them. Brenden and Spencer (cousins) were there as well. We all had a great time and got lots of good presents.

Sasha is now talking about his birthday which is at the end of March. He says he wants a Batmat birthday. That will probably change at least 3 times before his birthday.

Our New Year 2008 started out good this year. We woke up and ate breakfast and later that afternoon we went to grandma and pupah's to wish them a Happy New Year. We then went back home and ate our traditional New Year's dinner of cabbage, black eye peas and some kind of meat.

We had a good year in 2007. We had lots of vacations and we added to our family by having Dimitry. We are excited about what will come of 2008. God is so good to us and we know he is going to be good to us in 2008.

Halloween Pics

This year for Halloween Sasha was of course "Darth Vader". Little Dimitry was a brown and white horse. We started our evening with DeDe and I picking up the boys at school (Day Care), running to Chick-Fil-A and taking our food to Rob and DeDe's house. They were going to the Day Care Fall Festival since Papa Brad was out of town gor work. We ate our dinner and headed to the Carnival. You could purchase tickets at 10 for a $1.00. Sasha went to several booths and won either a candy or a toy. He was more excited to go outside and jump in the Jumpers. The jumpers they had were a Sponge Bob, a Pirate Ship, Cars Movie maze and a big tall slide. We spent half our time inside and half outside at the jumpers. Uncle Rob and DeDe took care of little Dimitry for me while I tended to Sasha at the booths and jumpers. I really appreciate all their help at Halloween night. This is the second Halloween that Papa has been out of town. I couldn't have made the night fun for Sasha without thier help.

We ended our night by going by our neighbors Ray and Ruthie for them to see the boys in the costumes. Papa came home the next evening. The boys were so glad to see and have their Papa home.

Vacation # 2 Tulsa Oklahoma October 11-15 2007

We took our 2nd vacation this year to Tulsa Oklahoma to see attend the Star Trek Expo Convention. This is the 4rd year we have attended it in Tulsa. Each year we have a great time. Yes, even if I'm not really a Trekie like my husband Brad is.

Sasha is already becoming a little Trekie. Little Dimitry enjoyed it also. He slept a lot of the time at the convention, but when awake he was happy to be there. The convention started on Friday at 6:00 pm. It lasted until Sunday at about 4:00 pm. No we didn't stay there the whole time but we were there every day for several hours the three days. We also went to the Tulsa Zoo, the Tulsa Aquarium, one of the malls and Toys R Us. Sasha got the better end of the deal. He convinced his papa that he needed Star Trek and Star Wars and even Spiderman toys every day at the convention. What Sasha asked for his papa bought. I can see our future since I'm sure our little Dimitry will be a Trekie also. In the next up and coming years Brad better buget three times the money in order to buy what he wants and Sasha and Dimitry.

$20.00 for momma's purchases ( All I purchased was a purse)
Spending time with my boys.......PRICELESS!!!

Yes, I'm not a Trekie but I do enjoy spending time with all my boys(including Brad) even it means going to the Star Trek Conventions.... My future is destined.. I will attend all Star Trek Conventions.

And the VACATION begins.... September 20-26th 2007

And we are off on vacation!!!! 10 hour drive and the boys were great!! Again, we are blessed with two great boys!!

We headed to Houston on September 20th (Thursday) and stayed with friends through Saturday night. The next morning we got into the car and headed down to Galveston until Tuesday.

While in Houston, we did things like go to the Children's Museum, Natural Science Museum. We toured the Downtown of Houston with our friends Pierre, Jane, Vina and Jon and thier aunt Milla. On Saturday we drove south to Dave's house which was fantastic!! After eating lunch with Dave at his house we all drove to Sugarland which was a very nice town. Very clean and richy looking.

Sunday we woke up and drove down to Galveston. We checked into our hotel and then went to eat lunch. After lunch we walked across the street from our hotel to the beach. This was Sasha and Dimitry's first time at the beach. I can say that Sasha really enjoyed building sandcastles (the one's Papa and Momma made were knocked down by Sasha himself. Dimitry slept most of the time while we were at the beach. After the beachtime we drove around town and did some siteseeing. We love VACATION!!!

On Monday we went to the Three Pyramids and toured the Aquariam. It was very nice and had lots of different fish and sharks to look at. After that we went to the Submarine and Destroyer ship and toured them. They were neat also. Then on Tuesday we woke up and drove home. It was another 10 hour drive home and the boys did very good.

We love taking vacations and Sasha is already asking when the next vacation will be. Who knows were we will be off to next......

Day with his new friend Gavin

About two months ago Sasha met a new friend named Gavin. Gavin was down visiting his grandma and grandpa and Sasha and him got together at Chick Fa Le. They hit it off right at first. They both love Star Wars and talked about the characters from the start. They ate their meal and were able to play on the toys. Sasha is looking forward to playing with Gavin again soon. Hopefully this winter he will come to visit again and the boys can get together again.
